The cryptocurrencies are only a small possible use of this technology,<strong> but its potential in itself is unlimited.<\/strong> It would be like matching the emergence of websites with a website&#8230; Potential and reality are confused with hyperbole.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In its essence, Blockchain is about creating technological bases and an infrastructure that not only<strong> facilitates decentralization<\/strong> (and will be seen next year) but, in fact, codifies it as a main requirement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We have seen recently how the web (and the Internet in general) has been co-opted from being a level playing field for all entities to, instead, a space where a handful of powerful corporations make the rules and hold all the cards. <strong>The Blockchain movement is a drive to \u201ctake back the web\u201d and return it to its roots.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One crucial way of doing this is by <strong>cooperation and involvement <\/strong>with the Open Source and Free Software movement. The early days of the Web clearly showed how having reference implementations, production, and enterprise-ready, available as Open Source was a\u00a0 key driver in making the Web ubiquitous. The Blockchain is no different.
