{"id":54618,"date":"2019-10-09T18:00:25","date_gmt":"2019-10-09T16:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/openexpoeurope.com\/?p=54618"},"modified":"2019-10-09T18:00:25","modified_gmt":"2019-10-09T16:00:25","slug":"microsoft-y-el-open-source-una-historia-de-odio-y-amor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/openexpoeurope.com\/es\/microsoft-y-el-open-source-una-historia-de-odio-y-amor\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft y el Open Source, una historia de odio y amor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hace unos a\u00f1os, si no recuerdo mal desde que Satya Nadella se convirtiera en Director Ejecutivo de Microsoft, que la compa\u00f1\u00eda de Redmond ha dado un giro a su pol\u00edtica sobre el open source y donde antes hab\u00eda odio ahora hay amor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Muchos recordamos el pasado de Microsoft anti Open Source y c\u00f3mo en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os ha ido abrazando tecnolog\u00edas Open Source en sus desarrollos y servicios como <strong>Azure,<\/strong> donde si el uso de Linux no supera al de Windows van a la par. Han creado aplicaciones para la comunidad como <strong>Visual Studio Code<\/strong> y <strong>.NET core<\/strong> o simplemente liberando el c\u00f3digo fuente en github de muchas de sus aplicaciones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-54621\" src=\"https:\/\/openexpoeurope.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Arenols-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"597\" height=\"362\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lo cierto es que los de Redmond se han convertido en uno de los mayores contribuidores al Open Source. Si entr\u00e1is en el <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/microsoft\">Github de Microsoft<\/a><\/strong> podr\u00e9is observar que tienen m\u00e1s de 2.700 repositorios de c\u00f3digo y es una de las compa\u00f1\u00edas con m\u00e1s usuarios actualizando y subiendo c\u00f3digo a Github. En el <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/opensource.microsoft.com\/\">directorio de c\u00f3digo<\/a><\/strong> pod\u00e9is ver aplicaciones como Visual Studio Code, TypeScript o el c\u00f3digo original de MS-DOS escrito en assembler por poner un ejemplo. Por si esto fuera poco ha entrado por la puerta grande como miembro Platinum en la \u201cLinux Foundation\u201d donde es uno de los mayores contribuidores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lavado de cara o realmente naci\u00f3 el amor, seg\u00fan reza en su github <strong><em>\u201cOpen source, from Microsoft with love\u201d<\/em><\/strong>. M\u00e1s que amor las circunstancias han provocado este giro\u00a0 viendo que el Open Source es imparable y que tiene una gran comunidad de desarrollo y usuarios\u00a0 a los que no se puede ignorar, as\u00ed que, si no puedes vencer a tu enemigo \u00fanete a \u00e9l y no morir por el camino.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hay que ver la llegada de Microsoft al mundo del Open Source como algo bueno, un impulso al desarrollo y a este modelo de desarrollo de software, y ver las grandes aportaciones que ha realizado, realiza y realizar\u00e1 como algo positivo que beneficia a toda la comunidad. Hay que buscar y encontrar el equilibrio entre ganar dinero y desarrollar c\u00f3digo abierto, ambas cosas son compatibles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-54619\" src=\"https:\/\/openexpoeurope.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Arenols-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"530\" height=\"288\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00bfY el siguiente paso?, qui\u00e9n sabe, quiz\u00e1s sea migrar Windows a Linux. Utilizar un n\u00facleo de Linux en lugar del viejo NT. \u00bfY por qu\u00e9 no? Apple en su d\u00eda ya lo hizo, migr\u00f3 su sistema a un n\u00facleo de Unix y BSD y no lo he ha ido tan mal. Las opciones que aqu\u00ed se plantean son varias:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Windows como un escritorio de Linux al estilo de KDE, GNOME. Improbable, han abrazado al Open Source pero tampoco hay que pasarse.<\/li>\n<li>Windows al estilo de Mac, hardware y software que sean uno utilizando los ordenadores Surface u otros. Quiz\u00e1s \u00e9sta ser\u00eda la opci\u00f3n m\u00e1s viable.<\/li>\n<li>Tal como est\u00e1 ahora, empaquetado y cerrado, pero con coraz\u00f3n Unix\/Linux.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pero no habr\u00eda que dejar al resto del mundo de lado y se tendr\u00eda que hacer compatible el software actual con el nuevo sistema. El trabajo es may\u00fasculo, pero eso no imposible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esto da que pensar. Haceros las siguientes preguntas:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\u00bfSi Microsoft se pasa a Linux significa que el Open Source ha triunfado?<\/li>\n<li>\u00bfEs bueno para el Open Source que Microsoft sea uno de los mayores colaboradores?<\/li>\n<li>\u00bfSeria bueno que migrara Windows a una base de Linux?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para mi son todas que s\u00ed.
