C\u00f3mo todos los avances t\u00e9cnicos el <strong>P2P<\/strong> no es bueno ni malo, tan s\u00f3lo es una tecnolog\u00eda en su momento disruptiva que pis\u00f3 en su momento una serie de callos a grandes empresas del mundo occidental con intereses importantes en la fabricaci\u00f3n de discos y de DVDs. Como estamos en 2022 me voy a permitir hacer un par de peque\u00f1os <em>spoilers<\/em>, sigue existiendo la m\u00fasica comercial y siguen rod\u00e1ndose series y pel\u00edculas a diario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Una red <em>peer-to-peer<\/em>, es decir, una red de pares. Es una red entre diferentes dispositivos en la que todos sus miembros funcionan como iguales sin la presencia de clientes ni de servidores fijos, cada uno de ellos es un nodo que act\u00faa simult\u00e1neamente como cliente y servidor, de esta manera pueden intercambiar informaci\u00f3n de manera m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida sin sufrir cuellos de botella. Habitualmente funcionan como una capa sobre Internet, aunque ser\u00eda posible hacerlo sin esta red.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.pixabay.com\/photo\/2014\/05\/10\/19\/14\/laptop-341419_1280.png\" alt=\"Computadora Port\u00e1til Red Redes - Imagen gratis en Pixabay\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Para poder considerar una red P2P como tal tiene que cumplir las siguientes <strong>caracter\u00edsticas<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Escalabilidad<\/strong>: Cuantos m\u00e1s nodos mejor funciona<\/li><li><strong>Robustez<\/strong>: Al no depender de un sistema central para que la red caiga deben caer todos los nodos<\/li><li><strong>Descentralizaci\u00f3n<\/strong>: No hay un nodo con funciones especiales, aunque esta caracter\u00edstica no suele ser respetada por muchas redes.<\/li><li><strong>Distribuci\u00f3n de costes<\/strong>: Los procesos, ancho de banda y almacenamiento se distribuyen entre los miembros de la red.<\/li><li><strong>Anonimato<\/strong>: Para que un dispositivo sea un nodo de esta red no debe ser necesario ning\u00fan tipo de validaci\u00f3n previa.<\/li><li><strong>Seguridad<\/strong>: Uso de cifrados para evitar filtraciones de datos no deseadas.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En mayo de 1999 <strong>Shawn Fanning<\/strong> lanz\u00f3 <strong>Napster<\/strong>, un programa de intercambio de ficheros MP3 que se extendi\u00f3 como la espuma por todo Internet ya que permiti\u00f3 intercambiar ficheros de audio entre usuarios a velocidades que no se hab\u00edan visto nunca, tened en cuenta que en Espa\u00f1a en aquellos tiempos la inmensa mayor\u00eda de los usuarios utiliz\u00e1bamos un modem telef\u00f3nico a partir de las seis de la tarde. El protocolo en aquel momento ten\u00eda bastantes agujeros de seguridad, por ejemplo, te dejaba espiar la IP de las personas que se conectaban, segu\u00eda siendo un sistema centralizado a trav\u00e9s del propio <strong>Napster<\/strong>, etc. Caus\u00f3 tal impacto que tras una serie de varapalos judiciales y una campa\u00f1a de acoso y derribo por parte de los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n tradicionales de todo el mundo fue cerrado, muerto y clausurado\u2026 para volver a reaparecer en decenas de proyectos que fueron puliendo todas sus imperfecciones compitiendo de ellos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gracias a esta explosi\u00f3n la tecnolog\u00eda se refin\u00f3 dando lugar a decenas de aplicaciones pr\u00e1cticas que poco o nada tienen que ver con los derechos de autor. Por ejemplo, la plataforma <strong>Skype<\/strong> se hizo competitiva en su d\u00eda gracias al uso de la tecnolog\u00eda P2P, de hecho, a nivel de voz IP y de videoconferencia es muy habitual el uso de estas tecnolog\u00edas. El sector de los videojuegos es un voraz consumidor de ancho de banda, de hecho, hay lanzamientos de t\u00edtulos que llegan a da\u00f1ar la calidad de Internet a nivel mundial cuando son lanzados, por eso es muy habitual que se distribuyan utilizando como base un peque\u00f1o descargable para dejarle todo el trabajo duro de los ficheros m\u00e1s pesados a la tecnolog\u00eda P2P.&nbsp; A nivel de contenidos multimedia empresas como <strong>Spotify<\/strong> o <strong>Netflix<\/strong> han llegado a realizar pruebas con este tipo de tecnolog\u00eda, al final han optado por CDNs tradicionales para distribuir su contenido, pero no ser\u00eda de extra\u00f1ar que en alg\u00fan momento pudiesen volver a invertir en la idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">C\u00f3mo pod\u00e9is ver el ni\u00f1o malo no la clase no era tan malo, tan solo un incomprendido al que le echaron mala fama.
