In the computing industry since 1969. Have been a programmer, systems administrator, product manager, technical marketing manager, consultant, university educator, book author, magazine author and blogger.
Foresaw several trends before they happened. Rise of Unix as an operating system, the use of CD-ROMs for distribution of software, the rise of Linux as a commercial system, need for a private, secure, peer-to-peer, open source cloud product.
Have traveled to over 100 countries, most of them more than once, spoken at thousands of conferences, universities and enterprises about Unix, Linux and Free and Open Source Software.
Developed many business plans for various companies, including two billion dollar lines of business for Silicon Graphics and two for Digital Equipment Corporation. Now helping OptDyn change the world.
